I discovered photography at an early age, through a 6^th grade darkroom class. In my mind, I can still see the black and white photo, of my sister silhouetted in the doorway, that showed me how a photo truly can convey a mood. Since then I have always had a camera, but it was a back-shelf hobby until the instant gratification – and unlimited film – of digital photography reignited the spark.

I live in the city, but find nature a compelling subject. And photography is a part of my everyday life, as well as all my travels. I’m particularly attracted to subjects that explore shape, color, and detail in both the natural world and the built environment. In recent years, with travels to Australia, Patagonia, Iceland/Greenland, Mexico, and other wide-open spaces, I've focused more than usual on landscapes. And in a late 2024 trip to Tanzania, I delighted in a photo safari - so many lions, zebras, wildebeests, and more!

The photos on the website change as I have new material to display. And I add new galleries periodically, so please check back to see new projects.
